Queen’s Birthday

The Queen’s Birthday is a public holiday and it is celebrated at least on 6 different dates around the world.
- the actual birthday of Queen Elisabeth is the 21^st of April (1926)
- the UK celebrates it on the 1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd Saturday in June
- Australia (except WA) celebrates it on the 2^nd Monday in June
- New Zealand celebrates it on the 1^st Monday in June
- Western Australia celebrates it sometime in September or October depending on the school holidays and the Perth Royal Show :-)
- Canada celebrates it the Monday on or before the 24^th of May

Anyway, we (Westen Australia) celebrated it yesterday. But this public holiday does unfortunately not hold for universities. So I had to go to uni whereas Ian could stay at home. But I came home earlier then usual to spend the late afternoon with him. We went to a nice café in East Freo and went shopping for plants and pots. Now we have our own little herbal garden with peppermint, parsley, marjoram and basil (only seeds yet).
