ZwiebelmarktThe traditional 'onion market' is being held in Weimar every second weekend in October. Apparently it was first mentioned more than 350 years ago - back then it was probably a farmers market. Today it is more like a fair or festival where one can buy onion cake, onion soup, decorations made of onions and since it is a German fair there is of course lots and lots of beer :-)
After leaving Weimar we are going to have Grüne Soße (green sauce) and Frankfurter Schnitzel for dinner :-)

OH, der Zwiebelmarkt in Weimar...da war ich schon ewig nicht mehr!!!Und es ist immer so schön, freu mich darüber was zu lesen...hatte schon fast vergessen, das der ja immer im Oktober ist. Da hab ich vor drei Jahren mein erstes kleines Perlsacktier (Herbertchen)her ;)Hoffe ihr hatte nen schönen Tag dort.
