We got up with the first light early in the morning as we had to do about 800km from Nallan Station to Karijini National Park.
Our first brief stop was Meekatharra and the owner of Nallan Station termed it 'The best thing in Meekatharra is the road out' :-) No wonder it is also called Meeka*fucking*tharra. But we had a nice chat with a group of bikies heading up from Perth for a bike show. We then met them again at the next stop - which is also due to the fact that there aren't that many places to stop :-)

On the way we saw big wedge-tailed eagles (so called wedgies) feeding on road kill. They looked really impressive. But you have to watch out, if they can't take off quick enough because they have eaten too much one of them might fly through your windscreen. We arrived in Karijini before sunset and pitched our tents amongst several big caravans. Most of them owned by 'grey nomads'; Australian pensioners who travel around their country in a camper van.
